How do I make a backup of my templates?

We're actively rewriting our user guide, so check back for improved coverage.

Sometimes – for sharing, reference, or simply peace of mind – it's useful to make local copies of any Kayako Classic templates that you've modified. You can do this by simply copying and pasting the files into your favorite text editor and saving the files.

For example:

To save a local copy your modified templates, log into the admin control panel, click on the 'Templates' sidebar heading, and then the Templates link under that. Open up one of the template categories, and then look for any templates that have been modified:

Click the template to open it, and select the entire contents:

Copy the contents, open a new file in your favorite text editor, and paste them in. You can save these files wherever you like, and refer to them later, as needed.
